Art Appreciation
Here is a 2-day Art Lover Itinerary…we couldn’t possibly squeeze all of the must-sees for the art lover in to one day!
…………………… Day 1 ……………………
10:00 Arrive at the Art Gallery on 9533 Main St, and explore what treasures are inside.
11:00 Grab a Studio Tour Brochure from the Visitor Centre or the Art Gallery on Main, enjoy local artists work throughout the shops and eateries in downtown Summerland.
12:00 While looking at the art take some time and enjoy lunch at one of the delis or cafes Summerland’s downtown has to offer.
1:00 Take a stroll down Henry and look at one of the 3 Statues we have in Summerland. The first is located in front of our Municipal Hall. Continue down Henry to Wharton where in front of the Museum is a second statue. Finally, head back to the Art Gallery where there are several sculptures on the front of the building.
1:30 Explore the murals that are painted on many of the downtown businesses. See if you can find them all!

10:00 Start your day off with a trip to the Bush Art Gardens. Here you will find some creative ways to reuse old things you may call “junk”
11:00 Head over to the DeLong Art Studio to look at beautiful jewelry. Located on 4420 Williams Ave.
11:30 Go to Calvin R Gallery where you can find expressive paintings and sculptures. Located at 2712 Johnson St.
12:00 Over to the Sage Fine Art Gallery where you will find local art such as paintings from Will Enns and Kathy Smith. Located at 2306 Thornber st.
12:30 While you are on your way to another wonderful gallery, stop by one of the many fruit stands along the highway, where you can get a great selection of local fruit and vegetables. Some also have light lunch items available.
1:30 Now that you have enjoyed some local treats, Stacy Studios is the last gallery stop you will have. Here you find everything from acrylic painting to silver jewelry and hand sculpted art dolls. Located at 14417 Biagioni Ave.
2:00 Head over to the Art Gallery or Visitor Information Centre and pick up a Banner Walk guide. Enjoy all the amazing paintings hanging all around downtown, painted by members of the Art Gallery. You will find everything sunflowers to Ogopogo, to the KVR all beautifully crafted on to the banners.
